2022-2023 Season Is Starting

The season is upon us for 2022-2023 snowmobiling! Keep an eye on our facebook page for volunteer opportunities and trail work. We spend 100’s of hours leading up to the start of the season and are always in need of helping hands for signing, bridge work, trimming etc. Activities usually happen every weekend leading up snowmobile season.

TRAILS CLOSED – No Base

Trails are closed at this time due to no base, message will update if conditions change and we can open the trails again.

TRAILS CLOSED – Warm Weather/Rain

Warm weather and rain are coming for the next two days. Trails will be closed for the time being until we can see how much base is left after the warmup.

TRAILS OPEN – Conditions Getting Worse

Trails are open, conditions are still ok but warm weather and more warm weather on Friday 2/11 will start to open up some water. Still cold in the forecast so cross your fingers we retain the good base.

TRAILS OPEN – Conditions Marginal

Chautauqua lake snowmobile trails are now open. Please use caution, there is a lot of water under the snow which could bog your sled down, do not ride alone, snowmobiles will pack the snow down and we will resume grooming Friday night. We want to be your club, join CLSC

TRAILS CLOSED – 10PM Monday 1/31

Trails are in great shape but warmer weather and maybe some rain are coming. The warmup doesn’t seem like it will last long and we are expecting cold temps and more snow later in the week. We have a good base so please stay off after 10PM tonight. We will groom this out and should create an awesome solid base for later in the week. Stay tuned for updates and when trails can open after the base freezes.

TRAILS OPEN – Conditions Good

Trails are open and in good condition. Groomers have been out, the area has over a foot of snow in spots and is freezing nicely with the lower temperatures. Watch out for early season conditions and traffic for the first weekend of the year. The DMV will also be available this weekend to register your snowmobile if needed. Please see other post for details.
